And so it begins

Here we go one more time. How did it get to be this time of year AGAIN!? It’s wedding season. I’ve been trying so hard to think of something to write my mind has gone blank. It has been a whirlwind since the end of April. We are excited for a new season and I am sure that there will be challenges but I am also hoping that there will be a lot of laughs and late nights.

Before I start sharing some of the stories from the new year I wanted to first say THANK YOU. I have been honored to be recognized by the Ottawa Wedding Industry and the Ottawa Business Community for my contributions. Thank you Brian Henry from Quality Entertainment for selecting me as the 2015 Tsirmpa Award recipient at the Ottawa Wedding Awards. I look forward to the event we are collaborating on! I think the Ottawa community is so fortunate to have you, you do so much both behind the scenes and in the spotlight. It is the small things that can have the biggest impact. I know you don’t do these things to be recognized but because you want to make our community better and feel the need to get involved and give because you can. I hope I can continue to follow in your footsteps and together we are going to make great things happen and have so much impact.

The day after I was recognized by my wedding peers, I also found out I had been named to the Ottawa Business Journal / Ottawa Chamber of Commerce Forty Under 40 list. I’m truly blown away to be included among all these professionals. None of this would be possible without the support of my family especially my husband Scott. I have to thank them for being so understanding and flexible with all the various projects I undertake. I promise I will eventually learn how to say no.

Ottawa has always been my home and we feel lucky to have a place in the business community here. We have been so fortunate that our business continues to grow. I think it is important to set a good example for my kids and show them they need to contribute to their communities in their own way. We are proud of the work we do and are thankful to keep building our dreams.

Despite all my new found “fame” I still find myself in parking lots at ungodly hours waiting for toilets to be delivered and tents to be installed. At least I have reality to keep me grounded! It’s great to start the season on a positive note, let the chaos begin!
